Hanging of the Greens is the Second Sunday in Advent. The sanctuary comes alive with the traditions of Advent and Christmas. We usher in this favorite season with candles, che, greenery, and glorious music.

First Congregational Church of Webster Groves Family Christmas Service

The Family Christmas Eve Service, held at 4:30 p.m., focuses on our children and families. The candles are lit, the sanctuary is alive with expectation as the Shepherds and Wise Men come to adore the Baby Jesus..

The Christmas Eve candlelight service of Lessons and Carols is at 11:00 p.m. We begin with a 10:30 p.m. recital of Christmas music by our Music Director, Dr. Ray Landis. Following this traditional worship, we share Christmas cookies and Wassail as we wish each other a "Merry Christmas!"

The Tenebrae/Maundy Thursday Service is a favorite of many members. It is particularly moving as we hear once again the story of the last days of Christ. As the candles are dimmed and the music softens we come to understand the power of the cross. The solemnity of this service provides context for the joy of Easter.

First Congregational Church of Webster Groves Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday! He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! A living cross, covered with flowers, adorns our worship space. Azaleas and Lilies line the aisles. Handel's Hallelujah Chorus caps our celebration of the living Christ. Easter is a day of celebration! We have two services that day, 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
