Sandwich Makers

This group meets every other Tuesday to buy food and prepare sandwiches which are then served at the Gateway Homeless Center.  The Sandwich Makers meet every other Tuesday in the church kitchen at 8:30 a.m.

Room At the Inn

Innkeepers and helpers meet at First Congregational Church the 4th Friday of each month at 5:30 p.m. to provide a safe place for homeless mothers and their children to stay for an evening.  This program was initially begun by the Divine Sisters of Peace and operates in more than 70 churches around the St. Louis area.

The Bridge (formerly Centenary Cares)

This program provides outreach to homeless men and women in downtown St. Louis.  Three free meals are served each day to approximately 150 people.  Members of First Congregational meet at First Congregational church every third Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. to serve dinner and help with clean-up.

Habitat for Humanity

Every year, individuals meet at First Congregational Church on a scheduled Saturday to assist in eliminating poverty housing and homelessness from the St. Louis area by building affordable houses for those in need.  The next scheduled Saturday will be provided when available.
